INFO TO KNOW: Holy Week

What is Holy Week?

Holy Week is the week leading up to Easter Sunday. It is a time of remembrance and reflection on Jesus' final days - from His entry into Jerusalem on Palm Sunday, His crucifixion on Good Friday, and His resurrection on Easter Sunday.

At LVfirst, we have been journeying through the book of Philippians throughout this season of Lent - looking at the way that Jesus flips the script on how we see and experience the world around us. Through His death and resurrection, Jesus flipped the script on death itself and created a way for us to be reconciled to God through Him.

This year, as we journey through Holy Week, we will be continuing these reflections as we remember Jesus' ministry on Earth, as we mourn His death on the cross, and as we celebrate His resurrection. We hope you'll join us for each of our Holy Week services as we finish our journey to Easter together!

Palm Sunday (FUNday) - April 13, 2025

Palm Sunday marks Jesus' entry into Jerusalem. This service reflects the celebrations of the people as Jesus entered Jerusalem with crowds of people laying the cloaks along the road and waving palm branches in the air.

We have two special services lined up this Sunday to celebrate Palm Sunday.  Read our Palm FUNday blog to find out more information about what services will look like this Palm Sunday.

Maundy Thursday - April 17, 2025

On Maundy Thursday, we have a special service of music and meditations to commemorate the Last Supper where Jesus instituted the sacrament of Holy Communion.

Music is led by our outstanding LVfirst Chancel Choir, and the service ends with the traditional stripping of the altar. This is an incredible and moving service. If you haven't attended our Maundy Thursday service before, we would highly encourage you to join us on Thursday, April 17th at 7PM in the Sanctuary.

Good Friday - April 18, 2025

This year, we are partnering with Lawrenceville First Baptist Church and New City Church to host a Good Friday service at our historic campground.

This will be a great opportunity to come together with a community of believers to acknowledge Jesus' ultimate sacrifice for all of us.

Easter Sunday - April 20, 2025

We have a full suite of services planned for this Easter Sunday:

7:00AM - Sunrise Service at the Campground
Join us at our historic campground (700 Braselton Hwy) for a special time of worship as the sun rises on Easter Sunday!

8:30AM - Communion Service
Our communion service is a great option for those who are looking to experience the Sacrament of Holy Communion. This service is a subtle service without our choir. We'll sing a few hymns, hear the Good News, and participate in communion.

9:30AM - Modern Worship
At our Modern Service, you can expect amazing music from our Modern Worship Team and en encouraging Easter message!

11:00AM - Traditional Worship
Our Traditional Service features our LVfirst Chancel Choir. You can expect a traditional style of service with creeds, hymns, and a message.
